Event details:
The City Circle and the British Museum bring you a special event dedicated to the museum's new major exhibition on Hajj. City Circle members will be able to see the exhibition on the first late evening viewing. The viewing will be followed by a talk and Q&A by Project Curator Qaisra Khan in the Museum’s Court Restaurant where refreshments and light snacks will be served.
£20 per person includes talk, exhibition ticket and refreshments.

Evening running order:
18.20–18.30 Entry to the exhibition.
19.20 guests make their way to the Court Restaurant, where they will have exclusive access to the space and enjoy refreshments and light snacks. Qaisra Khan, Project Curator, will welcome the City Circle guests and give a 20min overview of the exhibition. She will spend the remainder of the hour answering questions from the audience.
20.30 Event closes.

The speaker:

Qaisra Khan is a graduate in Law from Magdalene College, Cambridge with a postgraduate degree in Persian literature. She spent 5 years in financial services consultancy in London during which time, she completed further courses in Gemmology and Islamic Art.

Qaisra's break into the arts began with a six month internship with Christie's Auctioneers in the prestigious King’s Street department of Islamic Art, after which she was employed as a Researcher by the impressive Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar.

She currently holds the position of Project Curator in the department of the Middle East at the British Museum and is studying for a further degree in Islamic Art and Architecture at SOAS.
