The City Circle have joined with the Free-D initiative to host a discussion on Are Islam and Free Speech Compatible? Panelists will explore the concept of free speech and enquiry in Islam, Muslim community reactions to and uses of the media, and whether Muslims are too easily offended. 

The discussion will be led by an exciting panel of guest speakers, including Riazat Butt, Religious Affairs Correspondent for The Guardian and presenter of guardian.co.uk's Islamophonic podcast, Zahed Amanullah, Executive Editor of altmuslim.com and founding member of 'American Muslims Intent on Learning and Activism', and Hamid Khan of Ealing Youth Offending Team, and others (TBC). 

Free-D is a national initiative which aims to provide safe, supportive local environments where people can voice their opinions and find solutions. It seeks to engage communities in free discussion and create trusted outlets for expression. More information is at www.free-dcommunity.org
