Date: 26 Aug 2011 at 19:00-21:30
Venue: Abrar House, 45 Crawford Place, W1H 4LP
Event details:
The UN has declared a famine in Somalia where an estimated 10 million people are at risk of starvation. A deadly combination of successive failed rains and rising food prices has resulted in the worst drought the region has seen for 60 years and millions are struggling to survive. Children and women are the most vulnerable. More than 2 million children under five in Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia are acutely malnourished, and more than 29,000 children under the age of five have died in southern Somalia alone in the past 90 days. Thousands have fled their homes and are now living in refugee camps.
An urgent emergency appeal to provide humanitarian relief to people affected by this famine is underway. City Circle in conjunction with Islamic Relief will be holding this charity fundraising iftaar to help.
So, please use this final chance to celebrate Ramadan and also raise much needed funds and how your support by attending.
Entry for £5 only at the door on a first come basis - incl. dinner and drinks – Children under 12 can attend for free. 100% profits to Islamic Relief.
