The City Circle is pleased to invite you to join us to learn about an exciting project and support its work.

The Occupied Palestinian Territories constitutes one of the world’s most difficult environments in which to provide or access services of any kind.  The reality of the situation is that ordinary people are unable to travel in order to access services they desperately need.  By July 2010, 505 checkpoints and barriers obstructing road travel remained in Most people cannot move freely to see family or friends.  Nearly half live below the poverty line.

With satellite centres in Hebron, Anabta and Gaza, as well as Mobile Outreach Clinics operating throughout the West Bank,  the hospital’s mission is to ensure that patients are able to access poverty-relieving ophthalmic services regardless of where they live.  In 2010, the hospital treated 102,382 patients - 34,238 under the age of 18.

In this talk, the speaker will inform the audience of the state of eye health in Palestine and share the work of the hospital.

The City Circle is proud to support the St John’s of Jerusalem Eye Hospital for the vital service it provides to poor Palestinians.

The audience will get a chance to support the work of the hospital by donating to its Patient Relief Fund.  More information on the fund can be found here: http://www.stjohneyehospital.org/our-patient-relief-fund
